Crema & Counter is an independent publication for people building a better coffee routine at home, whether that means a first espresso machine, a grinder upgrade, a pour-over corner, or a full home café station.

How we research
Our guides are research-based. We draw on coffee-industry organizations such as the National Coffee Association and the Specialty Coffee Association, published research, manufacturer documentation, safety guidance from groups like the NFPA, and technical guides from specialty coffee retailers. We cite sources for factual claims like brew ratios, grind sizes, and safety advice.
We are upfront about what we have and haven’t done: unless an article explicitly says otherwise, we have not personally tested the products mentioned, and we never invent test results, ratings, specs, or prices. If something in a guide is out of date or wrong, we want to fix it.
